Before we begin
Here you will find everything you need to know about the amazing teachers, classes, and the start to making your Machon experience unique.
As you will see, some of the classes are labeled as “core”. These are the classes everyone takes part in. In the core classes of Middle east studies, Zionism today, Jewish journey, and Leadership seminar the teachers will approach the topic from different perspectives, and you will be able to indicate which method you prefer.
Other classes are listed as “electives", which means you have a range of options to choose from, and you can sign up for the options you feel are more interesting or suitable for you. Think of these as Optional Mandatories – you get to pick, and you must pick something.
At the Machon, we believe classes are spaces not only for formal learning but also for facilitating reflection, personal growth, and dialogue. We invite you to be our partners in this process, together with our teachers who are eager to meet you all!
We ask you to read carefully through the elective class syllabi and make an informed choice. If you have any questions, be in touch with your Rosh Chavurah. Everything is ready and waiting for you to start – but an important element is missing: your willingness to contribute, participate, and commit to the program.
You can access the information about your classes either through the "courses" page of the website or through the timetable schedule here and on the "academic week" page. After reading and considering all our different courses you can access a form that's present in most pages and, through it you will be able to state your preferences.
Let's make this Machon an unforgettable and significant experience for everyone, and don't forget that we all, staff and participants, must take an active part in the program to achieve this goal.
